Calvert Hall has been the dominant program in the past decade, and they have had a particularly impressive run the past four years. On Friday, the Cardinals ran their annual time trial, and as always, they dazzled under the lights. While not everyone on the roster ran, Max Ormerod, Oliver Cabo, Evan Berdan, George Shaffer, and Logan Argis led the charge for the Cardinals. All ran 10:10 or faster. Calvert Hall now has ten boys under ten minutes for their squad. Calvert Hall’s aim is on the national level, and they begin their season September 19th at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. While 2023 was a season for the books, Coach Baker believes, “this is the best team we’ve ever had.” 2023 saw the Cards qualify for NXR regionals where they finished eighth overall. That team included school record holder, multiple time MIAA champ, and current Hokie Cam Davis. Yet, the Cards have a couple guys this season who can take down his 14:56. The Southeast Region is heavily fortified, but this group is confident in their ability to achieve new heights.
