Goucher College Women’s Championship Preview

From Associate Head Coach JT Klopcic:

“We are very excited to host the 2022 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships. We believe we can provide an exciting championship level venue and atmosphere that elevates the student-athlete experience. This will be the first Conference Championship on the new John R. Caslin Cross Country course, which we know provides a spectator and student-athlete friendly competition environment. Our two, course preview meets this season have gone really well and we have gotten a lot of good feedback and are confident we can host a high-level cross-country championship for student-athletes, spectators, coaches and all in attendance.

For our team, we are excited to have a strong showing on the women’s teams, building on the success of the program in the Erick Camodeca era. I (JT Klopcic, Assoc. Head XC/T&F Coach) have been really pleased with the body of work the group has put in over the course of the season. They have all bought in since my arrival in early July and put in a good shift of work in the summer to return to campus in August in a good place to build and elevate themselves and the team. Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw, Sophie O’Connor and Reese Finnigan are some standouts among the group, and we are excited for them to go out and showcase the body of work that they have executed. The most exciting thing for us is that this team and program is so young, meaning that as we continue to grow and expand our roster, we have a lot of room to take this program to the next level.”
