Tips for Athletes and Coaches for racing in the Armory

Remain Calm-If you slip, get tripped up, or slide out to the outer lanes, stay calm and keep racing.  Something like this is going to happen, especially in the shorter distances.  Remain calm so you can react and keep your self in the race.

Bring something to clean your shoes.  Bring a towel so before your race, you can wipe your shoes to help reduce some slipping during your race.

Be aware of the FINISH line.  How many people missed qualifying for states because they did not know what the finish line was.  During warmups, walk around and see where the finish line to your race is.

Finish your race/run through the line.  Seeding will not be typical for the state meet, so just because you have a big lead in your heat, does not mean you are winning or will medal.

Bring food and water.  There are no concessions, so bring what you need for the meet.

Just race.  Will you set a PR in the Armory?  Not likely, but just go out and race.  The armory is not ideal, but compete against the field.
