
On Friday, January 27, 2023, Long Time Head Coach, Mentor, and Leader Freddie Hendricks passed away. The annual Freddie Hendricks relays had long been named in his honor, but this year, in addition, the outdoor Mervo Mustangs meet will be named in his honor.

On Monday, January 31, Mervo held the bell lap to celebrate and honor the legacy of Freddie Hendricks.
