Vince Ciattei-An interview after the Olympic Trials

Oregon Track Club athlete and Perry Hall graduate Vince Ciattei competed in the Olympic Trials at Hayward Field last week.  After racing and qualifying through the prelims and semi-finals of the 1500, Ciattei prepared for the finals.  Entering the meet, he was only one of six U.S. men who hit the Olympic qualifying standard of 3:35.00; Ciattei ran 3:34.57 (3:51 mile), just a couple weeks earlier.   Even so, a top three finish was still necessary against a high caliber field.  Ciattei ultimately finished tenth in the finals, but it was an action packed race which saw the entire field still grappling for those three spots with 150 meters to go.  Below, Ciattei discusses the three rounds of racing and what he is focused on in the upcoming year, including making the 2022 world championship team.  Ciattei still has four more races lined up for this year.  OT Results (click on June 27):  https://results.usatf.org/2020Trials/
