The Goucher Cross Country and Track and Field Programs have made tremendous progress since Coach Camodeca took over in the winter of 2020. Goucher boasts their top recruiting class this upcoming 2023-2024 academic year.
Distance Coach JT Klopcic discusses the expectations for their squad this upcoming XC season. The Gophers host the Baltimore Metro Meet Sep 1 on the Coach John Caslin Course.
“We are excited to continue to grow and build on the women’s side as a program. With Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw coming off the year she has had, it is hard not to be excited about her potential for growth this season. We have also seen growth from a handful of returners who will continue to develop as well as a few first-years like Imaya Edmonds who will make an impact right away.
On the men’s side, we are pleased to field a roster this year that will be the foundation of the program moving forward. Led by senior Sean Whitfield, it will be fun to watch the young group grow and learn together. I think a lot of the work that the group puts in may not be seen until later in the year during the track season, but it will be fun to watch them enjoy the process.”
