College Conference Championship Preview: McDaniel College

The Green Terror of McDaniel College prepare for their upcoming conference championships.  They are a member of the Centennial Conference, which is a highly competitive conference.  The Centennial Conference has seen several national championship teams in recent memory.  On the men’s side, in 2010, led by Anders Hulleberg of the Park School (2007), Haverford won the national championship.  On the women’s side, the Johns Hopkins women have dominated.  They have national championships in seven of the past nine years.  The Green Terror will line up against a strong field, but they have run well this year, and they are prepared to toe the line against strong competition.

Teams in the Centennial Conference are:  Bryn Mawr, Dickinson, Franklin and Marshall, Gettysburg, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, McDaniel, Muhlenburg, Swarthmore, Ursinus.

Centennial Conference Details:  Saturday, October 29 Haverford College

Green Terror:  Men

From Head Coach Doug Renner:

“Wyatt Farace (jr eligibility/McDonogh) and Jack Sears (Linganore/freshman) have both run #1 for us this year. All MD top 5 includes Nick Raumann (sophomore eligibility/Oakdale), Tyler Richardson (sophomore eligibility/Old Mill) and Ronan Perrone (freshman/Linganore). Our #6 runner Jack Reiser (freshman/Madison West, WI) has improved a ton this fall. Keith Jewell (junior/Delaware Military Academy) has also raced consistently well throughout the fall. We have made some great strides this season (pun intended).”

Green Terror:  women

“The big story on the women’s side is the progression of Bailey Mullen (senior/junior eligibility/Catholic HS) who used covid to reinvent herself as a distance runner. In just her second season of cross country, she has won two invitationals and been our #1 runner in every meet this season. Megan O’Neil (South Carroll/senior with junior eligibility), in her first season of healthy cross country has been a solid #2 for most of the year. Piper Nagaraj (freshman/Liberty) ran #2 last meet and has improved a ton since August. #4/5 battle has been between Anna Kale (King George/VA freshman) and junior Ashley Siebenhaar (Severna Park).”

“We look for both teams to race well and continue improving as we prepare for mid Atlantic region championships in November.”
